Assessments.

What is an Assessment?
Assessments are essential for people starting an exercise routine. They give your programmer a clear idea of what you are capable of. Identifying your current level of fitness, flexibility or whether you have poor recruitment of your postural muscles is an essential part of forming your exercise schedule. We use the results of your assessment along with your goals to write an appropriate programme that will achieve your goals.

Who would benefit from having an assessment?
Everybody requires an assessment if they are going to start an exercise regime. If you are not assessed your instructor will not have all the information he/she needs to write an effective physical activity programme for you.

What is a Special Population's assessment?
Due to age or limitations some people may not be capable of completing an ordinary assessment. Because many people who come to the Green Apple fall into this category we have developed an assessment that addresses balance, core stability, joint range of movement, posture, as well as cardiovascular ability.

Who would benefit from the Special Populations assessment?
You need a Special Population assessment if you:

  • have a chronic history of an biomechanical problems
  • have problems with balance
  • have any conditions that will affect breathing when doing cardio-vascular exercise for example emphysema or asthma
  • have had any major health problem i.e. stroke, heart condition etc
