What happens when I join Green Apple?
Step 1. 30 - 60 minutes
An interview to:
- establish needs "why do I want to do some physical activity"
- talk about exercise options which will be affected by your time limitations, health
- limitations and what you like and don't like to do.
- discuss the value and the cost "how and when do I pay?"
- explain the processes "What happens when I agree to start at the Green Apple?"
Step 2. 30 - 60 minutes
An assessment to:
- identify your starting place. Usually you do a brief bike ride wearing a heart rate monitor; a flexibility check; and an abdominal muscle control assessment
- identify additional needs which may relate to problems with BALANCE, POSTURE, PREVIOUS INJURIES
- measure and weigh so we can record the physical changes for you as they happen.
Step 3. 60 minutes
A "teaching session" in the gym for your personalised programme:
- instruct you how to use the equipment properly
- show you the specific exercises we want you to do
- explain how, why, when and how much
Step 4. 60 minutes
A "monitoring session" to:
- help you remember what you were shown during your teaching session
- answer any questions you have re: how, why, when and how much
- show you how to fill in your workout card
By the end of your monitoring session, if you feel comfortable with your programme, and the instructor thinks you are competent to go solo, you do not need to make an appointment for on-going visits. We will be keeping an eye on you in case you need help.
