Pilates Reformer

 

A Pilates Reformer is a piece of equipment that provides finely tuned resistance with a series of springs and ropes. Reformer training builds strength without "bulking up", increases flexibility, fitness and agility, and develops optimal core control, creating flat abdominals, slender thighs and a strong back. Pilates is suitable for all ages and levels of ability. The Reformer works to:

 

  • Develop muscle tone and improve alignment throughout your body.
  • Transform the way your body feels, performs, and looks.
  • Allow you to enjoy daily activities and sports with greater efficiency and reduced chance of injury.

 

The Reformer is effective for safe rehabilitation of the spine, knees, hips, shoulders, ankles and neck. It is also has an additional functional application, when used to enhance sporting performance.

To develop an effective programme for you, we need to assess your strengths, weaknesses and muscular tightness.

 

 

Initial Consultation (IC)

Commences with a detailed Musuloskeletal Assessment.
In the IC your exercise and injury history are recorded. You are then thoroughly assessed to determine joint and muscle tightness, posture and muscular weakness. In this assessment we pin-point areas which are contributing to your dysfunction and discuss the issues and the goals we would like you to achieve with your programme.
A tailored programme is then developed to achieve your unique needs and goals.

Session 2 & 3
Fully supervised one on one exercise sessions.

In these sessions our Exercise Physiologist will take you through the programme that has been individually designed for you and start to familiarize you with the equipment and exercises. We work with you individually for these sessions until you are confident of performing the exercises correctly.

         $60.00 (Non-Members)

Ongoing sessions

After the one on one sessions, you progress to self-directed sessions. In this stage you are working on the specific programme designed for you.
It is recommended that you are reassessed every 6-8 weeks and the programmes are upgraded as you are improving in your core and peripheral strength and mobility.
