Countless studies have shown that lifestyle change is more effective than pharmaceutical interventions for individuals with pre-diabetes or diabetes.
Exercise will reduce HbA1C levels of an individual with Type 2 Diabetes and this reduction is not related to body weight loss.
When developing a patient exercise intervention many factors need to be considered, such as condition, motivation, current co-morbidities. Exercise can be as simple as home based activities or more structured activities.
