News at the Reception….. by Nessa

Please remember to get checked in at Reception when you pass through, even if it’s a class or appointment and you don’t need your card.  This helps us to keep track of your visits to the gym and for us to check on you if you haven’t been in for a while.  We try to remember most names but can’t remember everyone and sometimes we may need a reminder.

In this warmer weather remember to stay hydrated.  Ensure you have a drink bottle and towel with you at every visit, they are the two most important things you need.  One to wipe the sweat off and the other to replace it!

When in reception, do you checkout the noticeboards? We change them regularly and you will find courses, updates and information here.

Are there any ideas you have for Reception that may make it better for you?   Please let us know as we are here to help you.

Now is the time to enrol grandchildren and children who don’t have any other organised exercise or sport

We are now halfway though our Paediatric Pilot program and the kids are getting into the swing of things and really enjoying the sessions. Our exercise physiologists, Darrol and the ACU students have been running a supervised class for children aged 7-13 every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 4-5pm. The children have been using our Forever Active machines to strengthen their muscles & bones, and completing a fun cardio circuit upstairs to raise their heart rates and burn off some energy. It is also great to see the Skywall  getting used in these sessions as it is a brilliant way to build core strength and fitness.

The Green Apple is now taking expressions of interest (from existing participants and newcomers) for ongoing children’s classes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4-5pm. The classes will run on a clip card payment method which can be purchased for $105 and will entitle each child to 10 supervised sessions.

Spaces will be limited, so if you know of any children who are not currently meeting the physical activity guidelines and who would benefit from regular & structured exercise, please see the reception noticeboard to express interest or email [email protected]

Thanks,
Bridie
