The Weekly Bite – May 18 2018 – Issue 2277

Hi All

I have had more interest in the Learn to Step class from members who feel ready to try something different.  If you want to strengthen your hips and knees in a group class, come along at 4pm on Sunday May 20.  This will be a skill building class where I will be teaching you the basics in stepping up and stepping down – very functional for your bottom and your legs.

Member Jim Mathers has a very special passion outside his usual working life.  He is a musician in the band, Lime Street and they will be playing at the Bonnyview at 7pm, Saturday May 19.  Jim tells me they will play one set of acoustic songs followed by three hours of up-tempo classic rock songs.  Entry is free so come and listen or even be prepared to join the dancers on the dance floor.

Have you paid your entry for the Biggest Morning Tea event, to be held on Monday, May 28.? The Social Committee plan to set up at the venue on Sunday May 27 and then meet on the big day at 7am so they can make fresh sandwiches and finish preparations for the wonderful tucker.  Shirley McGregor will be in charge of the kitchen and Joan Gregory and Caroline Evans will be on the front door. Pat Gray and Cora Zanetti will have their cake and jam stall, and Pat has crocheted a lovely rug which you will have the chance to win.  There will be raffles organised by Caroline Evans and Susanne Allen.

The Biggest Morning Tea starts at 9am for 9.30am entry.  The $20 fee will include 5 raffle tickets and a lucky door prize.  There will be a donation box for any extra contributions you may wish to give towards Cancer research.

This event provides a wonderful opportunity to mix socially with like-minded people.  The Green Apple fraternity and their friends always create a lovely ambience and friendliness in any group activity.  Be part of it!  See the Social Committee attendance list in Reception and add your name!

Cheers
