The Weekly Bite – April 27 2018 – Issue 2274

Hi All

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Danielle Savic onto the Green Apple Team in her capacity of Dietitian. Danielle graduated at the end of last year and is working in a couple of places already. She is coming on board now at Green Apple to help Loretta Howard cope with the referrals from doctors and also our members whom really want to achieve weight loss or find solutions to gut problems. Danielle has two degrees now, one as a teacher and one as an Accredited Dietitian. She is a bright spark and a lovely girl.  Danielle writes

Hi all!

I am very excited to let everyone know that I will still be working at the green Apple, this time, alongside our wonderful dietitian Loretta Howard. After working at the GA for over 4 years, I’m not ready to say goodbye just yet.

From day one of working at the GA, I fell in love with the team, clients and the encouraging and supportive environment. I wholeheartedly believe in what the GA provides to clients and the community and am so pleased I have the ability to help people improve their health and well-being through nutrition.

It’s so wonderful that everyone here makes such a great effort to exercise and help their body be more functional and healthy, however, it is so important that what you eat matches this hard work or you might not see the results you want!

Like the exercise physiologists, you can claim my sessions using private health insurance or you can use your EPC referral for a rebate (ask reception for prices).

Some of you might be asking, so what does a dietitian help with? Here are some of the areas I most commonly see patients:

-diabetes (type 1, type 2 and gestational

     diabetes)

– high cholesterol

– hypertension

– weight loss

– irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and intolerances

– constipation/diarrhoea and reflux

– dementia/cognitive impairment

– gout

I‘m also a specialist paediatric dietitian so I see lots of little ones (new born to 18) to help with fussy eating, intolerances, allergies and weight

loss and gain, to name a few. So if you’ve got any kids or grandkids struggling, send them my way!

If you think you might need some nutritional help, I will be consulting Saturday mornings from 8am to 12noon.

Dear Victoria,

I have been a member of the Green Apple for only seven months and I want to congratulate you on the professionalism of your staff.  It is a credit to you and to them.

Right from the first visit I was welcomed by Margy who knew exactly what papers I needed to sign before beginning my program.  Obviously, she had been informed that I was starting on that particular day and all was ready.  She has always been friendly, encouraging and helpful.  In fact, this applies to all staff.  I have found that staff know of the running of the place and the future programs planned.

I appreciate the cleanliness of the areas and the equipment.  I am a bit of a pain when it comes to noticing detail (friends tell me I should have been a detective) and the place is always spotless.

Last week I enquired about a change in my program as I have developed a spur on my heel.  I was encouraged to make an appointment with my buddy, Darrol, and after some discussions with one of his colleagues he was very helpful with setting new exercises.  Nothing was too much trouble even to writing some suggestions on paper so that I could attend to them at home.

In this day and age sometimes, the professionalism of businesses can be lost, however this is not the case here.  I continue to be surprised when I am at the Green Apple and no doubt will continue to enjoy how well your organisation is run.

Warm regards,

June Easte.
