Hi All
Haven’t the westerly winds been amazing, and they have not even waited for EKKA week! This wind blows directly in through our front door and this is why you will see the front door is closed, with a big sign telling you that we are still open. Once you enter the building it is not so bad because the front building gives us protection from the full force of the wind.
I might say that winds in general have been pretty fearsome at times. On one of my bike rides to Lamb Island recently I had a headwind of more than 20 knots from a south easterly direction. What usually takes me three hours without stopping became 4 hours and I was very happy to pedal into the ferry terminal at Redland Bay.
I am writing this to you on Thursday July 18 and I will be heading off very soon to do my usual ride to Lamb Island, the place Brian and I call our home for half the week. It will be a strong, gusty westerly into a southerly wind so I am envisaging a tempestuous trip. Pushed along at a pace from one direction and thrown back from another and it is the gusts that make it challenging because the lighter your body is the more you can be thrown around. Crazy isn’t it but I love the challenge that nature provides.
We have had a lot of interest in our Pilates Reformer Studio, and the official Launch on Tuesday July 23 from 9 till 11am will give you a chance to see the Group session in progress and to find out more about this exercise option. Nathan delivered our Group Reformer Class with three members last week and the feedback I received was wonderful. They not only really loved the class but also thought Nathan was so patient with them and explained everything so well that it made the whole experience meaningful and enjoyable. Nathan does have excellent skills in identifying needs and being able to explain not only how he wants you to do something but also WHY you need to do it in a way that encourages you to take ownership of it.
If you were one of the members who participated in Bridie’s Secret Woman’s Business Workshop, and you felt it was very helpful, and that Bridie did a marvellous job in delivering the information, I would love to hear from you. Even better if I can share your views (either anonymously or with your name) better still. I like to give recognition to the great efforts any team member makes to do their job and if we don’t share your thoughts then it remains a secret. Bridie will be delivering another Workshop, probably in September, and they are always well worth attending, both for the content and for the contact you have with Bridie.
Keep up the great attendance. Relish the challenge of Winter and Just Do It!
Cheers
