Hi All
All of us on the Green Apple team wish to congratulate our team member Kristen, and her wife Kylie, on the birth of their baby Alaska. Kristen says, “Our beautiful little girl was born on Friday, 15/11/24, Alaska’s arrival was some what tricky, but my amazing wife handled it like a superhero, I was in awe of her. We brought Laski home on Monday and that’s when I realised I will probably never sleep properly again! She’s very cute, she smells amazing, and I am astounded at how much something so little can poop! I just wanted to thank all members and staff here at the Green Apple for all of your lovely messages, well wishes and gifts. In time I am sure I will be asking for any tips you have to keep a bub happy.”
For the attention of all our Tai Chi participants of Michele’s classes, our final Tai Chi class for 2024 will be delivered on Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27. Michele will resume her classes in early February, 2025 (most likely Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5th) and we will give you plenty of notice regards this re-start date. I would like to thank Michèle for her dedicated support of the people in her classes. Every week I receive a class-count and a brief message about how the participants are improving. Michele is so passionate about helping her students.
I am hoping that when we provide Tai Chi again in February that more of you will try it. The focus on correct and effective breathing, the body-control you develop, and the balance and movement co-ordination that this activity provides will enhance any other exercise that you are currently participating in.
From Monday December 23, 2024, until Thursday January 2, 2025 the Green Apple opening hours will be somewhat modified due to Christmas/New Year. Since Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falls on a Wednesday, right in the middle of the week, when combined with weekend opening hours and then closing for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year Day, it all feels a bit fragmented. However, we want to give you as many opportunities as possible to come to keep your exercise going over this time because it’s absolutely essential! We need something to help with any stresses that have built up at the end of the year, any over-indulgence in festive foods and alcohol, any personal or family stresses that are peculiar to this time of year. Christmas can be a time of joy and giving and receiving but it can also be very challenging if you have lost partners and/ or family members.
We will be gazetting the Christmas/New Year schedule early December. This year we will not be sending out the usual 20 visit cards to earn a Christmas bonus (since we have had a diminishing participation in this) however we will have a great choice of Christmas gifts for our “full” Club members as well as a gift for our Associate members.
If you are not sure whether you are a “full” or “associate” member, check the Reception noticeboard for clarification.
Weird weather! We just need to cope as well as we can with the heat, and rug up on the cold days!
Cheers
