The Weekly Bite – Monday 6 May, 2024 —Issue 2565

Hello Green Apples,

It’s Nessa here! Just wanting to share with you all, the exciting FREE event coming up on Monday May 13 to Friday May 19. We will be Celebrating My Health for Life Week, promoting  Australia’s Biggest Blood Pressure Check and we will have loads of activities in our courtyard.

What’s that got to do with me? I hear you saying…. well, we need you to help spread the word by taking our flyers out into the community to invite everyone to this FREE week (see Reception to get yours, great to take to community groups/gardening/book club/golf/tennis/men’s or women’s groups/church groups or even in retirement villages), plus, you get to share Green Apple Community with others and enjoy the week too.

During this week we will be conducting FREE Health checks including blood pressure. Did you know high blood pressure affects 1 in 3 Australian adults and is more likely to affect men more than women, it is a major factor for chronic conditions including stroke, coronary heart disease and chronic kidney disease. Doing a Health Check is important to us all to make healthier choices and create healthier habits to reduce the risk of chronic disease. My Health for Life is a FREE government funded 6 session course delivered by Exercise Physiologist, Charlie. This course allows you to set goals, to make simple lifestyle changes including eating well, moving more which can help support healthier blood pressure and create a step-by-step plan to help achieve them over time.

FREE Fun daily activities, FREE daily talks with tea/coffee, FREE group classes – You could call it Green Apple OPEN WEEK! Prizes to win too!

Everyone is welcome to come along, especially to Friday’s Morning Tea with Katrina (bring a friend and bring a plate to share). All happening in our courtyard next week.

We hope you join in on the fun and share with friends and the community.
