“Forget New Year Resolutions ~ Focus on Positive New Habits!”

How many times do we set ourselves up for failure when we roll into a New Year with all the best intentions to make a change in some aspect of our life.

In the past 40 years I have had so many people tell me that they are “definitely going to lose weight this year” or “I am really going to come to the gym as often as possible this year”. The sad thing is that so many do believe that this is possible in this nice new fresh year.

And yes, it is possible if we understand what we need to do in our daily life to set up the little steps, several little steps, that will turn the resolution into a habit. In fact, most of us have to identify the bad habits that are stopping us achieve what we want to do so we can actively turn them into good habits which are possible to do day after day, week after week, month after month.

Life is so full and complicated these days that having help with creating and adhering to these good habits is essential. It may mean that we need to read a book like James Clear’s “Atomic Habits” which provides valuable insight into how to go about making positive changes in our life.

Or it may mean having a coach to help make it happen.

In every sport athletes have coaches to make sure outcomes are understood and met. Why shouldn’t WE have a body and mind coach. Our health, wellness and body-maintenance is probably more important than any other thing we invest in. As we age it becomes even more critical.

If you want help with creating beneficial good habits, and coaching is the best pathway for you, find someone you resonate with, share the load, and make 2023 a remarkable year.
