My Health For Life is a free, six-month program where you work with a health professional from the Green Apple Wellness Centre to achieve your health goals.
We will answer this question with a testimonial from one of our Green Apple’s Desleigh Lydement.
“Hi, my name is Desleigh and I have been attending Green Apple Wellness Centre for quite some time now. The centre was originally recommended to me by my doctor as I suffer from depression and she told me that the exercise would not only do me good physically but mentally as well. I followed her suggestion and joined up as a full member. My goal is to attend three days a week. Not being a person who particularly likes the idea of exercise, I have to say that there are many times that I struggle to get there but the effort is totally worth it. I know that I will walk out tired, but feeling much better than when I walked in. I also know that I am much stronger and more capable of doing everyday chores than I was before I started on the exercise program.
The staff are an amazing group who make each individual feel that they are special and important. Unlike many other gyms, Green Apple caters for we aged challenged members and as such we never have to be concerned about our size or our abilities. The staff will set you a program designed for your individual needs.
I have made many new friends in my time here which is where the doctor’s advice on mental help comes into play. Nothing like a good chat during your workout to make you feel so much happier. Exercising the mandibles (jaw) is just as important as exercising the rest of your body in my opinion.
My advice would be – ‘go for it’ – don’t just think about it. I did and have not regretted that decision.” Desleigh Lydement
