Hello fellow Green Apples
The Christmas schedule is now available and lets you know when we will be open and what we are doing over Christmas New Year. I hope you will be able to access us when you need to and also look for other opportunities to expand your exercise options eg. walking somewhere special or cycling on some of the wonderful Brisbane bike tracks, or body-surfing (which Brian loves to do).
One of the great things we achieve by attending Green Apple and regularly using equipment and possibly the warm water pool to stay strong, flexible and fit is that we can engage in other things that we feel we’d like to try or would like to do often. We have a mindset of being functionally physically capable in a way that the majority of the community do not have, especially as they age.
Our emailed newsletter, which we put out monthly (and differs from our weekly in-house newsletter) would have come out last week so if you are not receiving it let us know at Reception so we can put you on the mailing list.
Our annual end-of-year Christmas letter to you will go out this week and, again, if you don’t receive it, please let us know and will print you out a copy.
You may have noticed Raul, one of our grandsons, in Green Apple recently. Raul has become an official team member and you may see him working around the place inside and outside. He is a very diligent worker and takes what he does seriously and likes to get his work done. This is wonderful in a young man, but it can be challenging in a place where everyone is so friendly and wants to chat, so I am hoping you can help him stay on track.
At present Raul also attends college following his passion to be a barber. The course is for 12 months and already Raul is showing great aptitude and just loves college and what he is doing there.
I am so glad to see so many people taking advantage of the pool these days. I am still endeavouring to decide on more classes and when they will best be attended. Just a reminder, if you want to try the water class, the best one to attend initially is the Wednesday 10am Learn-to-Aqua.
I want to provide more water classes in 2026, and I’ll need help from anyone attending regularly to think about this so if I call a meeting to discuss possibilities, I hope you will come along.
Cheers
