Our Green Apple Social Committee members, Pat Gray and Joan Gregory, met with me recently to finalise their 2019 events. The watermelon weekend is coming up soon and I am hoping that everyone has paid the necessary amounts so Joan can get the financial side all settled.
The dates for the Christmas in July trip, and the end of year Christmas party at Pine Rivers Bowls Club, will be gazetted soon so you can keep the dates free.
Nessa returns this week so Petrina, Nessa and I will meet to discuss how we will help Pat and Joan. If we think of any other events to add (anyone for Tandem Skydiving?) I’ll let you know. If you have ideas or would be prepared to organise something for other members, let me know.
Bridie and the Team are doing a great job of organising the Paediatric Pilot group (PPG) that we will be delivering in February. The students from ACU here on their Exercise Phys practicum will be running the program under supervision, gathering information and data to be used in our new Paediatric Exercise Physiology service. If you have children or grandchildren whom would benefit from participating, this is the time to take advantage of the “nil fee” offer.
On the Public holiday, Monday January 28, Brian and I will open from 6am till 10am. I will take an Aqua class at 6am and Brian will take a Stretch class at 8am. Actually Brian is working really hard to install the framework for the big waterproof shade sail that is being custom-made to cover the Skipping/Rod Area. The weather has been cruel, so hot, and it has been difficult work in the direct heat but Brian hopes to finish it on the public holiday after we close. So not too much longer to wait for some shade in that courtyard hopefully. The manufacturers have been on Christmas holidays and have a backlog of orders so we just have to be patient.
To all of you whom have earned your Christmas Bonus, really well done!!
