The Weekly Bite – Monday 07 April, 2025 —Issue 2611

Hi All

In this newsletter, I am keeping you all in the loop about things that are going on behind the scenes so you know what has been, and is, underway.

In regards to the new heat pump and the solar system, it has now been installed and it is working well. Now we will be working out how to have optimal temperature control in the pool particularly in winter when arthritic joints and soft tissue can be affected by the cold. To be able to exercise in warm water all year round is going to be a huge benefit to many members. The trick will be to keep the water warm enough for people who need warm-water-exercise and yet to have it comfortable enough for people who are doing Aqua classes. I hope you will be patient with us as the process unfolds and any feedback is always welcome.

In relation to the Waterproof Shade cloth sail, the monster cover over the courtyard, the process is underway to replace it. Initially the supplier told me that we might have a two week turnaround to have the new one custom-made because we had all the attachments ready to pop it back up. Now they tell me that there will be anything up to an eight week timeframe which makes it very hard for Brian, and anybody who’s trying to keep the old cover up and functional, until we can get the new one.

I’d like to thank member Scott Benson for being an amazingly proactive member. Brian has been adjusting the current sail constantly, coping with wind and the rain etc. Brian told me that Scott had helped at times and, on his own volition, spent time working on adjusting the sail when he knew it was needed. Normally I would want things done through proper channels (I am a stickler for “doing things properly” and this probably drives some people mad but that is how I run the business) however I know Scott has the skills to be helpful in the way he has been.

Thank you, Scott.

Other activities going on behind the scenes is

*  a progressive overhaul of the all the HOIST (Forever Active) equipment. Gary and John are doing most of this work with Brian the purchasing officer where bits and pieces are needed. It is a slow process but they are doing a great job!

* Replacement seats on some bikes, the brown and black seats which have been designed to provide a different support for the hipbones and to provide some “give” or slight movement side to side to allow for the action of the hip joint.

* Specific training for Green Apple team members who will be helping provide Pilates Reformer tuition and supervision. Currently on staff Charlie, Josie, Jesse, Wanda and Loretta  all have their qualifications in clinical Pilates Reformer. Together, they are working to ensure systemisation and consistency of delivery.

Everything going on behind-the-scenes here at Green Apple is based on what you, as members, will benefit from as we “help you help yourself” in relation to your health and well-being journey. So make good use on what we have under one roof!

Cheers,
