The Weekly Bite – Monday 10 February, 2025 —Issue 2603

Hi All

Brian and I had a lovely two weeks holiday on our cruise to New Zealand. This was actually a catch-up cruise from the Covid year 2020 would you believe. Brian loves going on a cruise, not for the entertainment provided or the overindulgence of alcohol but for the time to wander around doing his own thing, have good healthy food and a lot of different foods to choose from. He really enjoys having the time to exercise when he feels like it and at his leisure. I appreciate being on a cruise because it is the only time that I close my phone down and relax, with full trust in the Green Apple team to look after you all.  I read no emails, read no texts, and allow my brain to switch off and have complete downtime. 

When we do get off the ship you will not be surprised to hear that Brian’s favourite activity is to check out the hardware shops! Regardless of where we go Brian is always interested in finding out what sort of tools and bits and pieces are popular with “Tradies” in that particular part of the world. He even did this in Canada and Alaska!

This time when we went to New Zealand we actually did three excursions, one a three-hour E-bike tour in Wellington, a seven-hour excursion in Christchurch viewing all the damaged areas from the massive earthquake and what they’ve done to repair and rebuild, and one in Dunedin to visit the beautiful beaches. Brian couldn’t believe that New Zealand had beaches with such wonderful rolling surf. The water would have been freezing but Brian sill felt like jumping in to do some body surfing! 

We returned last Saturday and hit the ground running. We were just saying to each other last night that we can’t believe it was only a few days ago that we were floating around on the ocean. We both agreed we feel we’ve been back at least a month and have caught up with a lot of things, and with a lot of people. Back on track!
