Hello Green Apples,
We have some great articles in this edition of the weekly bite. If you are interested in hydrotherapy here at Green Apple, then the article on Warm Water Hydrotherapy should be of interest to you. The 10am Learn to Aqua class on Wednesday’s is delivered as a more clinical warm water class in comparison to our gazetted “Aqua” classes. If you are new to warm water exercise, this is the class for you.
In relation to the Saturday Aqua class, and in response to requests from class participants, we will be delivering Aqua at 8 am instead of 7am, and the Coaching class will be delivered at 7 am. These changes will occur from Saturday July 18 and hopefully give our water-babies a little more “sleep-in time”!
Have you noticed the additional big Bench (some of you call this the “Bed” I believe) in the courtyard? Brian and Tristan have been busy making this and they are now working on a second similar Bench to provide you with four big benches in the courtyard.
Thank you to member, Judith McWhirter, who explained to me how much everyone loved these benches, and that there could be a big wait time to access them in busier times. I did share with Judith that the two benches in the courtyard were originally designed to provide an upraised flat surface for members who were unable to get down on the floor to do their exercises, and that the blue mats under the benches, and black mats upstairs in the Group Class area, were for people like me who could lower themselves down and get up again. I know many of you can’t get back up again if you make it down and this is why you must have the benches available to use, so big thanks to Brian and Tristan for getting on with this bench manufacture when I asked for them.
Again, I encourage any of you, those with any pain or dysfunction in your knees, to attend Bridie’s workshop. Even if you haven’t pain yet, and you don’t want dicky knees in the future, learning what you can right now is a form of insurance. A very worthwhile investment!
And, WELCOME to our new Exercise physiologist, Emma Brear. Emma was one of our Masters students and has now graduated and is super keen to be with us at Green Apple so do give her a warm Green Apple onboarding.
Cheers
