The Weekly Bite – Monday 14 April, 20245—Issue 2612

Hi All

Many of you are asking when the toilet block adjoining the pool area will be available to use. Well, I have fantastic news!

We will have the official opening on Tuesday, April 22, directly after the Easter break!

We have had a few hold-ups during 2025 due to various challenges. Cyclone Alfred certainly put us behind our original time timelines and we will make good use of the days we will be closed for Easter so we will be ready for that Tuesday date.

We are still waiting for our platform seats which will be going into the Pool Dressing Room and have been told they may not get here until mid May however that won’t prevent the Accessible toilet and the downstairs Ladies toilet usage.

So exciting, after all these years, to be able to provide all-year-round warm water exercise as well as Walker and Wheelchair access to a toilet on the lower level, as well as a designated Ladies toilet where you don’t have to negotiate stairs!

We are celebrating a My-health-for-life week in May, from May 6 until 9th, and we will have all sorts of activities and some presentations on interesting topics. I invite you to be part of this and to invite family and guests to come along to Green Apple during that week.

The My Health for Life program has been an Australian government initiative to help people make “wellness” changes in their life before they succumb to type two diabetes or other chronic health conditions.

We became involved in providing this program years ago and many of our members have benefited from it. We will be providing a course in May, commencing Thursday, May 1 at 5 pm and we are looking for participants both within Green Apple as well as in the greater community. The delivery time, 5pm, is ideal for working men and women.

We have a wonderful team of Volunteers within Green Apple. They perform an essential part of the fabric which makes up this business. Volunteers support the culture and the philosophies we are bound by and help us deliver best-practice service. Sarah Kaya is our newest volunteer and she shares her thoughts in this newsletter.

The weather is cooling down so wearing layers to Green Apple which you can shed one-by-one as you warm up is a good idea. The critical factor when we experience seasonal changes is to keep up with your usual exercise routine. Don’t let the weather control you, “just do it” as the saying goes!

Cheers
