The Weekly Bite – Monday 15 September, 2025 —Issue 2634

Hi All

The weather has been so unpredictable lately that decisions about what to wear can be challenging. In the early morning the temperatures can still be quite low and then by the middle of the day we have sunshine, and the temperatures have climbed. The westerly wind, and the gusts, on Thursday morning were very chilly. As we transition from spring into summer, layering our clothing is probably going to be the best way to go.

I am reviewing all our classes currently with the purpose of adding more Warm Water Aqua classes to the schedule and I would like your input in relation to your preferred time to come for a water-based group class. 

Some people really like the early morning 8 o’clock time because it gives them the rest of the day to do what they need to do. Others tell me that they don’t get out of bed very early, even in summer, and a bit later in the day would be better for them.  A couple of people have said to me that they would prefer to have a 3 pm or 4 pm Aqua class because they find that it helps them relax and they get a better night’s sleep. The plan is to increase the water-based classes mid-October so if you plan to continue doing Aqua, or if you want to start attending water classes, let me know the best times and days for you and I’ll do my best to accommodate you. See the Reception notice board to put up your suggestions or send me an email on [email protected] and tell me why you would like the times you suggest. 

In regards other classes, the Friday class has not had many attending for ages and will be taken off the schedule very soon. The Wednesday Easybeat was going to go too however Katrina had 10 people in her class recently and I have decided to keep it going if the numbers remain above 8. If you want this class on schedule, please promote it. Katrina takes a wonderful low impact class to music. 

I have some housekeeping messages to share with you and I’m hoping that you will understand why I am asking you:

  1. To avoid reserving equipment with a towel and walking away from the machine.
  2. If talking to another Member while sitting on equipment, rather than using it to exercise on, be aware that there may be other members who want to share that equipment and be prepared to move off the equipment and continue the conversation in a clear space.
  3. To avoid sitting on the big benches in the stretch area and using them as a conversation area. 

I love to see and hear the social interaction here at Green Apple. I see it as essential to our emotional and mental health. I am also aware that some people are time-challenged and need to be able to get around and do their exercise in a timely fashion, so please be mindful of this and use equipment and then free it up for your fellow members.
