Hello to all Green Apples
I have a confession to make!
And I am sharing it with you because I think we are all capable of doing something that causes us accidental damage. A brief lack of attention is all it takes. I’ll be loath to talk about it during my working day and so I am sharing it here as I know some of you have been told I have had a fall. It was not so much a fall but a stupid thing to do.
Every morning when I am at the Centre, I go into the gym area at 4:30am to do my exercise for the day before I start everything else. I never bother to turn the lights on as I rush through the main weights area on my way to the courtyard, because I have walked through there for decades and I know where everything is. What I hadn’t calculated was how dark it was getting in the morning and I did a crazy thing.
A text came through on my phone as I was hurrying through and I glanced down, blinded by the bright light on the phone, and went off course and slammed my head into a protruding metal bar on a piece of equipment which has been there for a long time and is totally visible (when the room is not pitch-black!).
Result: A huge cricket-ball-size haematoma on my forehead.
Off to the Private Hospital at Chermside, a CT scan to check for skull fractures or brain-bleed and then clearance to go to Lamb under 24 hour monitoring.
I will learn from this as I am sure you do when you stumble over something or have an accidental fall. It can happen so easily. We all feel foolish at the time. However, my greatest learning curves have been when mistakes have been made. I am sure you have discovered this too.
Cheers
