Hello Fellow Green Apples
Brian and I had more than 40 members attending the Green Apple on the Ekka holiday, Wednesday, August 12. Brian and I like to work on public holidays to give our Green Apple team members a full day off. It is a nice, relaxed session and gives us a chance to talk to you.
Loretta came in on her day off to deliver the Step class at 8 am. I really appreciated her offer made at the time weeks ago, and also her wonderful efforts on the day. Loretta decided to deliver a 60 minute session and her class participants came down happy and very satisfied with the quantity and quality of exercise provided. Thank you Loretta!
Important news!
Since we now have five Exercise Physiologists we must provide an area dedicated to VALD technology assessments, and a quiet space where they can take clients for any testing, assessments and specific exercise prescription. The Functional Training Room will now become their dedicated Allied Health area, and this may affect some of you.
Many of you use the functional training room to do your bench exercise, and as a quiet space yourself, however any exercise you have been given to do can be transitioned into another area of the Centre so if you are unsure of an alternative space to do your exercise, let us know at Reception and we will arrange for someone to help you.
My favourite “quiet area”, when the Centre is busy and there are no classes scheduled, is the big Group Class area. It is nice and private most of the time and has plenty of windows and the glass door for ventilation. There are mats and other resources up there which can be accessed for your use when necessary.
If you can walk up and downstairs without pain and can get up and down from the floor (and don’t require a bench to do your exercises or stretches) this would be the place to go.
Have you met our newest Exercise Physiologist, Emma? I am hearing excellent reports on Emma’s classes, both in and out of the water and this might be where you have had some contact with her.
Emma has both her Pilates Mat and Pilates Reformer qualifications and is available for one-on-one programming if you want to use the Pilates Studio as part of your membership. Until now, members have had to pay a fee to utilise the Studio however this will change by the end of August.
From the beginning of September you will have access to the Studio as part of your membership (for those of you on a Full Membership) as long as you are deemed competent to use the Reformers safely and correctly.
If you want this access please book in with Emma to gain the necessary competencies, or alternatively with Charlie, Loretta or Wanda who also are accredited Pilates Reformer providers.
Cheers
