Hi All
Brian and I enjoyed working on Exhibition Day. I was able to catch up with so many people who I don’t usually see, not because they are not here but because I am usually busy behind the scenes or down the Clinic etc and not mixing with you all as I did in past decades.
We had a great turnout! More than 65 members came in to do their exercise during the four hours we were open, 6 am until 10 am on Wednesday. Brian took a Stretch class at 6 am and a Barbell class at 7 am and both were well attended. Member Desley Green told me she loved Brian’s Barbell class. She had never attended it previously (Brian usually takes this class every Wednesday at 5pm) and she said it was very like the Body Sculpt class Loretta used to take.
It was also inspiring to see member Vickie Seddon and her happy band of warm-water friends taking their own Aqua class at 8am. I was so impressed with them!
I think we have many members who would benefit significantly from doing some warm water exercise on a regular basis. If you are interested in trialling this then book a half hour coaching or personal training session with Exercise Physiologist, Josie, so she can design a tailored water-based program for you.
Josie also delivers the class on Wednesday at 10 o’clock, currently called “Learn to Aqua” rather than Aqua, to ensure that participants know it will be a an exercise session in the water for people who are either starting out or who have medical reasons to be attending?
So, if you were one of the members who attended on Ekka Day, well done and good on you! It was definitely worthwhile opening up for a few hours on the show day Public Holiday.
Team member Kristen will be taking the Thursday 6pm Mystery Class again on Thursday August 21. Kristen went up on Thursday August 14 to help while Jesse is unavailable on Thursday. Jesse is on his final practicum to complete his Masters and Kristen will do 2 (and possibly a couple more) of Jesse’s classes while he is away.
Kristen is studying her Cert 3 and Cert 4 as a Fitness Professional, and this is all part of building her skills.
Cheers
