Hello Everyone
Those of you who gave us a card or a Christmas gift, thank you. I think that we are all going to have to be working out extra hard to burn up the additional calories!
Going into 2026, team member Katrina Bethell has been appointed Mistress Sparkle and already she is gearing up for the task. Katrina has arranged for us all to bring a unisex gift (to the value of $10) to our final Team Meeting, 11 o’clock on Tuesday, December 23.
We have some real characters here on our staff, all with a heightened sense of humour, so I should be dreading to think what some of them might feel is an appropriate gift! We will see how it all goes.
Katrina has also thought that a physical activity challenge amongst all of us will be something that will keep us on our toes and, in her words, enhance our team spirit going into 2026.
I think I might have created a monster!
Katrina has been with us at Green Apple for more than two decades and has been part of the journey of the business over the years. She knows how much fun we have had and wants to keep the tradition going.
I can always remember something that happened more than 30 years ago. Brian and I were on holiday and Petrina, our daughter, and Katrina both stuffed pillows down the front of their uniform and painted a couple of their front teeth black and then took a photograph of them cavorting around the Centre, laughing their heads off. It was not till some time later that I “discovered” the prank but I had to chuckle. No harm done and probably gave a lot of members something to smile at.
A case of when the cats are away, the mice will play!
We have two exercise physiologists working over Christmas New Year so if you are interested in preparing for 2026, I would strongly recommend you book an appointment for 30 minutes with one of them to have some appropriate VALD assessments. This is a state-of-the-art service we are offering now and both Charlie and Jesse are very competent in gathering highly specific information about your body strength and weaknesses, your joint ranges of motion, your balance.
If you are at home and on holidays this may be a very worthwhile activity to be involved in. It provides valuable information for your doctor as well as any orthopaedic or neurosurgeons you may be referred to in the future.
Cheers
