Hello fellow Green Apples
Last week we had a couple of incidents which required ambulance support and during the process of carrying out our emergency procedures we realised that some of our emergency phone numbers for members and associate members, and possibly other information in relation to you, may require updating.
We remain highly diligent with our medical records, especially those which have been sent to us by doctors whom are referring patients to Green Apple. However, some of you have been at Green Apple for decades and may have provided emergency contact numbers for family members which are no longer current.
We do require this information available just in case we need it. It is important also that the person we are trying to contact will be available at the times you attend Green Apple and, just as important, that they are able to action whatever is needed if you are taken to hospital.
So often when we have an incident within Green Apple, and call the ambulance to help, the problem can be dehydration, medication adjustments, and other relatively easy-to-remedy matters. The paramedics are very thorough however and generally will take you to hospital for a proper checkup. This is why we need to be able to contact significant others in your life to alert them to what is happening.
Let’s ensure we are up to date about your information. Would you check at Reception and ask what we have on file in relation to your contact details, your emergency contacts, current address etc.
Despite the cooler weather, we are managing to keep the water temperature in the pool consistent recently. During our first cold snap the pool temperature was difficult to stabilise however we are now turning the heat pump on for longer, and at strategic times, to do our best to ensure you have warm water!
Member Vickie Seddon, who has been a wonderful support for our aqua babies, will be travelling for a few months soon and I know she will be missed. I hope there is somebody who attends classes regularly who will fill Vickie’s shoes until she can return.
Raul, who you may have met during his work shifts, has a couple of months remaining in his specialised Barber college, and I trusted him to trim my hair last week! I am very proud of what he can do!
Cheers
