Hello Green Apples,
Last Friday, June 26th, we had our pilot class for Janet’s Scottish Country Dancing Class. The class went very well with a great turn out of people, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Enthusiastic participants commented,
“it was good fun!”, “it was good, something different that I would absolutely do again.”,
“It was fun, very energetic– we had a lot of laughs-there was a lot of giggling.”, “Those that didn’t come-missed out!” and “It was a great class, Janet did a very good job.”
The class will continue on Friday’s at 10 am, so put your name on the Scottish Country Dance Class list in Reception, and if you can’t attend, please let us know so people on stand-by can attend.” Thankyou Janet for taking the time to bring this class to us here at the Green Apple.
Member Vickie Seddon took part in the REDDY Fun Run/ Walk on Sunday June 21st at Pelican Park in Clontarf. There was a massive turnout for the event with many people participating in the 21km marathon. Vickie was joined by fellow member Jim McLynn and his family and did the 5km walk, for a great cause. All money raised, and I believe it was around $120,000, will be donated to the palliative care unit at Redcliffe Auxiliary Hospital.
Vickie says “Everyone should put this event in their calendar for next year as it is a wonderful event that raises money for a good cause.”
Well done to Ben, who did a fantastic job of delivering the last BEAT IT course. This was an 8 week course of exercise for diabetics, comprising of two sessions of supervised exercise weekly at Green Apple. The latest group were amazing people who were very committed to making the changes needed in their life to address their blood glucose levels. Congratulations!
We deliver BEAT IT onsite and online for Diabetes Australia. If you have friends or family who want to trial an exercise plan at Green Apple but possibly don’t feel ready to join, then enrolling in this course could be the answer. Diabetics, whether T1, T2 or gestational, can book in for this course.
