Hello Green Apples,
How was your Australia Day? Hoping everyone remembered that we where closed. But if you did come along, we had a program on the window which included stair runs on the front step, sit-to-stand on the seat, lunges up the street, crab walks back down the street… and many more! You can’t waste a visit to Green Apple, had to keep you busy. So, who did we get on video, turning up while we where closed?
Hope you have been keeping up your water intake and keeping hydrated, especially while you are working out. Your body needs to replenish it’s fluid as it will improve brain performance (even mild dehydration—as little as 2% fluid loss—can affect memory, mood, concentration, and reaction time), digestive harmony (your body needs water in order to digest food properly), give you more energy (dehydration can slow down circulation and affect the flow of oxygen to your brain) and fewer headaches (even a mild fluid loss can cause the brain to contract away from the skull, leading to headaches and migraines in some individuals). How much should you drink? 8 glasses a day is a good guide.
I have had a beautiful member, Rita, come to me and mention that some members are put off when it comes to using the pool and feel uncomfortable about what to wear. Please feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Swim shorts, swim top, even normal shorts and t-shirt. Rita is showing off her 3/4 tights and her loose fitting swim shirt. So don’t be put off by what to wear in the pool. The pool is available to all members. Pool programs can be made for you by your Exercise Physiologist or Exercise Professional and you can join one of the Aqua Classes as well as Slashing Good Time Class. The pool is solar heated, perfect at this time of year, and a great alternative from the gym equipment. All we ask is please shower before entering the pool. Come and join in the fun!
Enjoy your week
Thanks Nessa
