One of the good things that has come out of this pandemic has been the diversity of innovative ideas that have been created out of necessity. The growth of online options from being able to purchase anything at all, to being able to attend international conferences, watch webinars, learn new skills, has been amazing in the past year.

So many people tell me that they are now actually attending things online or exploring Google in a way they would never have done in the past. There is almost an excitement and pride in being able to take on technology and win!

Developing our online services has been something I have wanted to do for a long time because I knew that the only way I was going to be able to share what we have developed as a pilot program over the past 40 years within Green Apple would be through technology. Since I have no desire to have multiple Centres (which is the direction the Fitness industry has long rolled out as the successful business model) I knew I had to find a way to share our very personalised service of prescriptive programming, delivered by a real person face-to-face albeit via technology.

The advent of COVID provided many business challenges but also introduced phone call consultations throughout the medical fraternity giving allied health access and opportunities also. Since NBN coverage had been expanded into some rural and regional areas, and I knew that these are the people I wanted to reach, people who need personalised physical activity for their medical conditions, it was the right time to take the plunge.

So Green Apple Wellness Centre still exists as you know it but now there are added opportunities because what we roll out to people who live too far away to attend are also available to you when travelling, when bunkered down at home and when too busy to attend.

One of the online courses available right now is the free (fully funded by the Government) My Health for Life course. It is not an exercise option but provides a wonderful chance to expand your knowledge, and your understanding, of the health journey you are currently making. You attend a live class using your computer, iPad, tablet (I even use my iPhone for these things if it is the only technology available to me at that moment), log in and join your group plus your facilitator, and have some fun! Have you any Green Apple library books lying around at home?  Some of ours haven’t been returned for a while so could you check your shelves and return them if you have read them.
